Catcher Alex Jackson, right-hander Jacob Webb and left-handers Kolby Allard and Grant Dayton were all optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett. Thomas Burrows, Corbin Clouse and Tucker Davidson were reassigned to minor league camp. Jackson came to camp looking to prove that he could serve as depth behind veterans Tyler Flowers and Brian McCann. He performed well going 6-for-22 at the plate with a pair of home runs and also looked improved defensively behind the plate. Dayton is back after missing all of the 2018 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He made four appearances this spring allowing four hits and no runs over four innings while striking out three. Dayton at least showed that he is healthy and will likely be a bullpen option for the Braves at some point during the 2019 season.
