I just look at the strength of the draft, some contracts on the team, some ages of players with larger contracts, and go from there. The one motto I have is ....DON’T CHASE THE DRAFT, LET IT COME TO YOU!...This is how the Vikings got Moss. They certainly did not need him with Carter and Reed already on the team. They missed an opportunity to do this when they took Treadwell instead of Myles Jack who for some reason fell. What has that cost them? Well Adam Thielen Jersey , perhaps they would not have given Barr that huge extension if they had Jack? Perhaps they would have been able trade Barr (last year) for a high pick? When the Vikings stupidly made the Bradford trade they lost their 2017 first round pick. It was a massive failure IMHO to not trust your backup to play out the games. The Patriots did not panic when Brady went down and they just rolled with Matt Cassel all season. If the Vikings had of rolled with Shaun Hill and whomever else then the probable outcome would have been a couple of more losses no? I think it is reasonable to assume they would have finished around 6-10 which would have put them drafting at the 9th spot in 2017.Who went after that? Mahomes and Watson. Vikings had a visit with Mahomes too.Imagine if they would have just rolled with Hill and took their lumps in 2017. Most reasonable people would have understood since Teddy’s injury was just terribly unfortunate for him and the team.Perhaps the Vikings would have had Mahomes right now and not a 29 mil QB who I like but is expensive. This year they need to take the best player with that first pick. Period.Could be Fant, Metcalf, Sweat, Gary, Wilkins, Simmons Kirk Cousins Jersey , Ferrell, etc.Metcalf would be an awesome pick! That would open up tons of routes for Diggs and Thielen because he is going to take the top off the defense. That kind of size and speed is hard to find.So this mock is not using any simulator and going off various rankings and mocks out there. There is only two trades in this mock. The first has Houston moving up to and paying a bit of a premium to do so depending on which trade chart you are using. In this one it is almost even.TRADE PARTNER:HOUSTON TEXANSSENT: ROUND: 1 PICK: 18(287 pts)RECEIVED: ROUND: 1 PICK: 23(245 pts) & ROUND: 3 PICK: 22(49 pts)INDIANAPOLIS COLTSSENT: ROUND: 3 PICK:18(54 pts)RECEIVED ROUND: 3 PICK 26 (54 pts) & ROUND: 5 PICK 26 (54 pts)23: R1P23DL JEFFERY SIMMONS MISSISSIPPI STHEIGHT: 6’4” WEIGHT: 301 ARMS: 34.5”HANDS: 10.25”BENCH: 28Douglas DeFelice-USA TODAY Sports50: R2P18OT KALEB MCGARY WASHINGTONHEIGHT: 6’7.1” WEIGHT: 317ARMS: 32.88”HANDS: 10.13”WING: 79.75”40YD: 5.0510YD: 1.753CONE: 7.66BENCH: 23VERTICAL: 33.5”BROAD: 9.25’89: R4P18 G DRU SAMIA OKLAHOMAHEIGHT: 6’4.6”WEIGHT: 306ARMS: 33”HANDS: 10.13”WING: 80.5”40YD: 5.2910YD: 1.833CONE: 7.89BENCH: 28VERTICAL: 27.5”BROAD: 8.42’Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports86: R3P26DE JOE JACKSON MIAMI HEIGHT: 6’4.2”WEIGHT: 275ARMS: 34.13”HANDS: 10”WING: 80”40YD: 4.77BENCH: 22VERTICAL: 27”BROAD: 9.08’Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports120: R4P18TE KAHALE WARRING SAN DIEGO STHEIGHT: 6’5.1”WEIGHT: 252ARMS: 32.75”HANDS: 9.75”WING: 77”40YD: 4.6710YD: 1.613CONE: 7.21BENCH: 19VERTICAL: 36.5”BROAD: 10.17’Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports164: R5P26 S WILL HARRIS BOSTON COLLEGEHEIGHT: 6’1”WEIGHT: 207ARMS: 31.26”HANDS: 9”WING: 72.375”40YD: 4.4810YD: 1.543CONE: 6.81BENCH: 14VERTICAL: 37”BROAD: 10.25’Greg M. Unity High School will open its doors to ninth grade students this year, and will continue to add a new grade each year until they are a full 9-12 grade high school.Part of the curriculum at the school will feature an interesting. . .and, quite frankly, pretty smart. . .twist.Birk has said that the school hopes to have 25 students in its first year.I’m not sure if we’ve got anyone in the Burnsville area that knows any more than what the story from KARE-11 provides, but I certainly can’t find fault with Birk for wanting to provide a solid education for teenagers in the local community.
